  7.     I miss my Grandma. She was always
  8. giving out good advice:
  9.  
  10.     "While it is in your hand, put it
  11. away."
  12.  
  13.     "Measure twice, cut once."
  14.  
  15.     "Count your blessings instead of
  16. sheep and you will have good dreams."
  17.  
  18.     Well, Ken has brought us something
  19. almost as good with [Granny Sez]. Here
  20. are the wonderful aphorisms every
  21. young grandmother should memorize to
  22. pass on to the next generation.
  23.  
  24.     Grandmothers (and Grandfathers)
  25. have a huge responsibility. While a
  26. child's parents are busy with the
  27. ordinary scolding and correction, the
  28. Grandparents pass along cultural
  29. wisdom. Some evolutionary scholars
  30. tell us that this is why humans live
  31. so long after child-bearing age. The
  32. elders are the keepers of wisdom.
  33.  
  34.     Of course, our world today is too
  35. fast, too busy, too electronic to be
  36. bothered by wisdom. We want to do it
  37. because it can be done. Wisdom has
  38. given way to certification and
  39. education. Who needs hard earned
  40. wisdom? Cynicism works almost as
  41. well!
  42.  
  43.     Enough blathering. I took the
  44. liberty of adding Granny's face
  45. (borrowed from Dennis Hildreth's Old
  46. Maid Poker on LS 211). Otherwise,
  47. here is Kenneth's sweet little old
  48. program, just waiting for a Boy Scout
  49. to help her across the street.
